Summer Garden Camp

Our Summer Garden Camp for youth ages 5-14 combines workshops, hands-on garden work, and harvest days for a truly dynamic experience!  Please inquire about internship opportunities for high school students.

This hands-on summer camp incorporates food production, cooking, art, biking, outdoor education, and more!  Youth leaders from Growing Food and Sustainability will engage campers in diverse activities including…

  • Hands-on garden work
  • Weekly harvest days
  • Cooking with garden produce
  • Outdoor sustainability education
  • Multi-age relationship-building and mentorships
  • Weekly bike trips to deliver produce to the M.O.M. Food Pantry (optional)
  • Working with other incredible young people who are building a better future!

This summer we are offering two, 3-week sessions of Summer Garden Camp! Each program day includes hands-on garden activities and a garden-fresh snack.

June 24th-July 14th  Session 1: The Garden of Life
Farmers (10-14) Tuesdays and Wednesdays 9am-noon
Gardeners (5-10) Fridays 9am-noon
Learn about soil and compost, water, and the energy  food systems

July 22nd-August 11th  Session 2: The Garden of Abundance
Farmers (10-14) Tuesdays and Wednesdays 9am-noon
Gardeners (5-10) Fridays 9am-noon
Learn about garden insects and animals, healing our bodies and the earth, seed saving, and food preservation

Registration Information

  • Registration is limited to the first 15 applicants per session.
  • Fees:
    Gardeners (ages 5-10): Sliding scale from $0-$55* per session
    Farmers (ages 10-14): Sliding scale from $0-$110* per session
    * Please pay what you are financially able. Your contribution will help fund lower-income campers.
  • Make checks payable to Growing Food and Sustainability
  • Mail the registration form with payment to Growing Food and Sustainability, 6994 Frank Lloyd Wright Ave. Middleton, WI  53562
